I have received many questions about transcripts and I'm aware that many former students of Desert Resorts School of Somatherapy are concerned about how to get an official transcript. To clarify matters, students need to be aware of this information.

The California Massage Therapy Council has now uploaded the application for state certification. If you are going to apply for state certification, the CAMTC requires an official transcript be sent directly from your school. They also require the school's correct address.

The current address for Somatherapy is P. O. Box 2973, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270.

Because of the costs and time involved, Somatherapy is raising the price to $20.00 for one signed copy of a transcript, mailed directly to the student and will charge $40.00 for two transcripts, one mailed directly to the student, the other mailed directly to the State, or any other licensing agency, or school. The process of rectifying student hours, locating former student transcripts from several databases and sending the transcripts registered mail, to ensure arrival, makes this necessary. We apologize since we are aware that times are difficult for many.

Please be aware that the CAMTC requires at least 100 hours devoted to instruction addressing anatomy and physiology, contraindications, health and hygiene, and business and ethics. If you don't have 100 hours of A&P (that includes kinesiology), contraindications, health and hygiene (about 12 hours in Swedish), plus business and ethics, you will need to take those classes to meet state requirements.
