Hot Stone Therapy

Heated stones have been used in many primitive forms of therapy to bring warmth and pain relief to clients. The process has been greatly refined in modern times, especially in the spa industry, and currently is one of the most popular and requested treatments.

Heated stones allow the client to reach a state of deep relaxation more quickly. The use of heated stones allows heat to penetrate the tissues, causing muscles to relax, which allows the therapist to accomplish more in a session. The application of heat increases blood flow, improving nutrition and removing wastes in tissues to which it is applied.

Application of heated stones to key areas of the body allows the therapist to access the less dense body, which, unlike the physical body, cannot be accessed through the five senses. Bringing the client's awareness to the less dense body frees the client to enter a meditative state so that inner work may be done.
