Thai Massage

This ancient massage form has its roots in India and was originally taught to the people of Thailand (Siam) from Buddha's contemporary, Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha. It is based on energetic work along the ten energy lines, according to Ayurvedic principles, as well as physical stretching movements performed in conjunction with massage. This beautiful system gives students a new and deepened insight into massage and the human body as well as a new healing art to offer clients. In this four-day class, students will learn the history and basic theory of Thai Massage, a hands-on full-body laying down massage pattern, including massage on the energy lines and Thai-based stretching techniques.

Lena Jelveus is a native of Finland, who studied at Axelsons Gymnastiska Institute, and studied physical therapy at the Karolinska Institute, as well as studying Thai massage in Thailand.
