Somatherapy Institute was established in 1991, making it the oldest school in the valley and continues to run as a small business privately owned and operated. For years it has kept and continues to keep its promise to graduate exceptional therapists with the school's focus only on massage and bodywork. You get the best training with master and specialized instructors so you stand out from the rest. You won't just give a massage, you will know how to give a massage with our focused hands-on training, emphasis in detail (proper body mechanics, layering skills and techniques) and in-depth lectures. Our instructors also work in the field of massage, practicing what they teach to bring real world knowledge and theory to you. Our school is looked up to for its ethical standards of practice and professional results; readying students for successful massage careers no matter which path(s) they choose or connect with.
A new chapter: our Rancho Mirage campus closed on March 29th, 2026, and Somatherapy is now focused on online enrichment courses and instructional retreats in the Coachella Valley and Hawaii. The same dedication to expert, hands-on instruction now reaches students everywhere — through professional video courses, live online sessions, and immersive in-person retreats taught by our instructors.
