Our Services

Relax with us at Somatherapy School of Massage Student Clinic! Our clinic provides students with the valuable opportunity to hone their skills by offering discounted massages to the public.

Our Student Clinic is generally open 10AM - 5PM. Appointments are generally taken in advance. Our schedule is subject to change based on classes, student availability, and workshop events. If there is nothing scheduled for that day we may only do part days or not be in at all. Call to leave a message, we will get back to you when available. Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays we are not here unless students have classes or have signed up for clinic. These days are not promised.

Our service is guaranteed for a Swedish/Therapeutic massage. We cannot always accommodate or guarantee specific requests for massage modalities or students. (Specific requests can greatly limit your booking opportunity.)

Students with limited per-hours-day availability or those that have received prior training can NOT be requested.

We use an ayurvedic oil that was developed by an ayurvedic doctor. Due to the natural ingredients there is a very light aroma (it's been a huge hit) and can be slightly different due to batches — this is common for true natural ingredients. We have a different brand of unscented oil available as well; just kindly request it.

Policies And Procedures

We are pleased to have you join us for a 1-hour or 1.5-hour student massage! To enjoy your student massage experience to the fullest, we ask that you observe this short list designed to ensure your satisfaction, comfort and safety, as well as that of others.

• A CMT is always on site and overhears your intake with the student before massage to ensure safety and proper questions are being asked. This is a part of their training to ask these questions.
• Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment if you have not completed your intake/consent form.
• Please note, we do not have a large lobby and do not recommend you bring friends or family to wait for you at our school.
• Payment is usually taken in advance of receiving your massage. Complete an evaluation feedback form after your massage to assist our students in their progress.
• A Health Intake and Consent for Student Massage Form is required every single time you visit with us. These are best done before coming to your appointment (sent to your email) as signal is usually low in the area. We do not have public WiFi.
• Students are required to only do a minimum amount of clinical hours; we do go through times of inconsistency or no availability, especially if enrollments are low. Students have classes, studies, family and work outside of school. They are not employees here and we do not have therapists that work in the student clinic. It is a school.

Cancellation Policies And Procedures

Clients have the responsibility to:

• Communicate their preferences, expectations and concerns during the intake with the student and/or CMT on site
• Communicate complete and accurate health information and reasons for their visit
• Treat students, staff and other guests with courtesy and respect
• Arrive for treatment clean and without wearing perfume or scented body lotion in consideration of others. Please do not bring in your own lotions, cremes etc. in case of an allergy of another client or student or it has lingering smells. This is an institute; even though it can be great for students to learn with a different medium we advise to do this with a professional.

Payment

We accept cash, checks, credit/debit cards and gift certificates issued by Somatherapy Institute. Updates are pending.

Making An Appointment

A valid card number is needed to book any massage appointment at Somatherapy Institute. There are no holds on your card; it is for the cancellation/no-show policy. We recommend booking in advance; however, we can accommodate you on short notice if we have availability. Availability can change quickly.

We are a small clinic and do not always have a dedicated receptionist on hand. Leave a short voicemail when prompted with your name and phone number to reach you back. Please speak clearly.

Please cancel or change your massage appointment at least 48 hours in advance. Please be aware your card will be charged a late cancellation fee or no-show of your appointment if you fail to cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Monday-Thursday late cancellations are 50% the appointment price. Friday-Saturday cancellations are FULL price of the appointment. No shows are full price of the appointment. A no show charge happens when we did not receive any message and have tried calling you that day about the set appointment (that you are already late for)*. To cancel an appointment please call the office number at 760-321-9214. Leave a message if prompted with your name, number and date of appointment and that you are canceling it. We will remove this appointment once we get the message if we are out of the office.

*Periodically we will verify that contact information is correct so that the confirmation and reminder messages can be sent out. These are automated messages. The emails will have the consent forms. Some specialized emails may not receive these messages.
